Meet Ryan

Ryan Berry (he/him) is a freelance photographer, writer and editor based in Everett, Washington.

His professional experience as a photojournalist and reporter dates back to 2015 and includes working on staff at the Everett Daily Herald in Washington State; the Billings Gazette, Bozeman Daily Chronicle and Havre Daily News, all in Montana; and the Columbia Missourian in Mid-Missouri.

Ryan graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in art.

His reporting and photography has received recognition from organizations including the Society of Professional Journalists, National Press Photographer’s Association and Montana Newspaper Association. He has been assigned by a number of outlets including the Associated Press, Washington State Standard, Investigate Midwest, and Montana Outdoors. His work has also been published in national news including The New York Times and CNN.

Environmental issues and conservation, along with the arts and hyperlocal culture top the list of subjects that captivate Ryan’s interest as a storyteller.
